Family Garden

We decided to do a garden this year. We planted carrots, zucchini, squash, tomatoes and a green pepper. Lucas loves helping and he took an active part of digging in the dirt and placing the plants. I can't wait to see what our garden produces!

New Cousin

We have a new cousin!

Mary Minchey was born on July 10, 2011 to Adam and Corri Minchey. She was 5 lbs. 7 oz. and 19 inches long.

Family Fun Day!

The Days of '47 put on a event called Family Fun Days and it was held at the State Fair grounds.It was specifically for kids and it was free. They had a bunch of games that were all for kids. Whether they actually won the game or not, they got a prize. Lucas was quite proud of the prizes he won.

Although, to play this game Lucas was told to throw the bean bag into the clown's mouth. So Lucas walked up to the clown and threw it in the mouth. After we laughed, we told him to stand back and throw it in.

The Ring Toss

Lucas loves the fishing ponds.

Lucas did pretty good at throwing bean bags at the cans. He managed to knock them all over!

Highlight of the trip! The Army brought in some of their Hummer's and a truck with a crane on it. Lucas was able to operate the crane himself and move it up and down and around! Way Cool!!

Lucas also sat in the hummer with one of the soldiers next to one of their guns. Bird's eye view on top!

Lucas and Daddy went to see the fire trucks while mommy took Grant inside. It was very hot. Lucas was able to hold a fire house and turn on the water! (It was turned on so low that it was like a garden hose.) Lucas was leaving when he walked in front of another boy who was trying out the fire hose. The hose turned on and got Lucas right in the face. Whoops!!

And what carnival wouldn't be complete without a bouncy house and slide.

We found Poppy inside the building with all the crafts. Lucas and I made a covered wagon and a horse.

Grant was so cute. I was talking with him while waiting for Lucas to finish playing in the bouncy houses. He was smiling up a storm. So Cute!

It was the first time that he smiled for mommy!

Water Fun with our Cousins

After we went to the Seven Canyons Fountain in Liberty Park with Poppy, Lucas definitely wanted to go again. So we invited Andrew and Tyson meet us for some fun. Uncle Nathan took a lunch break and joined us too.

The boys had a blast and they played for 2 hours straight before we stopped for lunch. They climbed over all the rocks and the waterfalls.

Grant was such a good baby while we were there. Hardly any fussing!

Unfortunately, the lunch I made for us (and it was an awesome lunch!), I left on our kitchen counter. So Nathan and Dustin went to McDonald's to get us lunch. We had our picnic lunch for dinner instead.

Fourth of July

We started our Fourth of July pretty early. Grammy and Poppy wanted to take Lucas to the parade and they showed up before 8 AM to pick up Lucas for the parade. Dustin and I hurried to get ready and then walked down to where they were seated. Lucas was having so much fun collecting candy from the different floats.

Jay had gone to IHOP to get some breakfast and he was nice enough to get us some breakfast too. what a nice brother/uncle!

Grant slept through the parade - I guess it wasn't that interesting to him!

This is what we ALL did after we got home from the parade - took a nap!

We had dinner at our house that night. Grammy bought steaks for everyone and we had a feast! After dinner she made funnel cakes for everyone - they were so good! Grandma Bear-Bear and Grandpa Pop-Pop joined us for fire works in front of our house afterwards.

Jay and Joey bought fireworks for the boys to light. Lucas was so excited. He told me a couple days before that uncle Jay was going to take him to buy some fireworks and they were going to buy a red one, a blue one, a green one, and maybe even a white one! He LOVED it.

 The Fireworks show that Murray was shorter than they usually do but we still enjoyed it. I love the fact that we can see them from our house but after the show, I go into the house and go to bed. No traffic jams for us!
