Count Your many Blessings

This week for Family Home Evening we had a Thankful Family Night. We sang Count Your Many Blessings and talked about what it means to be thankful/grateful. Then we talked about what we are thankful for.

Here is a picture of our Blessing Box. Each night after we read, we think of what we are thankful for, write it down on a piece of paper and put it in this box. The plan is to open the box on Thanksgiving and read what we are thankful for.

Happy Birthday Grammy!

Today we celebrated Grammy's birthday. We invited her over for dinner and had Chicken Cordon Bleu and Baked Alaska for dessert. It was all very yummy!

We didn't put any candles on the cake but we did sing to her. Then we gave her a nice scarf for her present. We really love our Grammy.

Beanbag Words

For Family Home Evening we read a story from the Friend called Beanbag Words. I was a story about a girl who learned how she can do her part in strengthening her family. In her sharing time they played a game with a bean bag. Every time you catch a bean bag, you give a compliment to someone. 

After we finished reading the story, we played the game too. Luke had some really great compliments for mom and dad. I think he really liked throwing the bean bag too.

Farewell to Connor

Connor has been called to serve in the Marshall Islands on his mission. We went to his farewell today and we will miss him. He had a great farewell planned, he chose the music we sung and the song that Grandpa and Shauna sang. They did an awesome job of course. He did a really good job speaking, I was impressed at how well he did. I was also impressed with his testimony, I love it when I hear the testimonies from people I love. I'm glad that Luke and Grant have such great examples to follow in our family.

 Good luck Connor! We will miss you.

It seems like Grant is anxious to eat and drink what we do. Dustin was sharing his water with him.

I can always count on Luke eating the bread at any party we go to involving food.

What's For Dinner?

Here's Grant. He's getting to be such a big boy. We think he's really cute. 

 Today we are introducing solids to Grant for the first time. I made him some rice cereal.

 He wasn't really too impressed, he didn't eat very much.

But we still think he's pretty cute.

Game 2

The Tigers v. The Lions

The Tigers won 10 - 0. That includes the goal the other team scored for us.

Unfortunately Luke was pushed by some kids from the other team and he left the game pretty upset. He said he never wanted to play soccer again. Dustin and I had to do some fast talking to convince Luke to keep trying. Eventually he decided to try it again, thankfully.

More Grant

The first thing a lot of people say when they see Grant is, "Look at his eyes - they're so big!" He really does have great eyes. We just think he is so cute. We definitely love having him in our family.

He's started playing more with toys and with his hat.
