Lunch at the Mayan

My cousin on my Dad's side, Katie Nash, was married yesterday. So her family that lives in Arizona, came for the wedding. It's been such a long time since I have seen Becky and her husband Gene. Jeremy and his wife, Becky, drove up with their kids, Thomas and Claire. Jeremy wanted to get the family together and he wanted to try the Mayan restaurant at Jordan Commons, I guess they filmed an LDS movie there?

So Grammy, Lucas and I went with Becky and Gene to meet up with Andy, Jeremy, Becky, Thomas, and Claire at the Mayan Restaurant, Dustin came later. Of course the highlight of our visit was the diving show that they do every hour. The kids thought it was great! Afterwards, one of the female divers came by and said hi. Thomas was fascinated by her and she was nice enough to stop and talk to him.

It was a great lunch, I'm really glad I went. Plus my food was really good, I had the Chimichanga (super good).
I had a great time spending some time with my cousins. I spent a lot of time with them as children and we had some really good times. We definitely need to head down and visit them sometime.

Easter

Lucas slept in a little later but when he woke up, we told him the Easter Bunny had come during the night and hid a basket full of goodies for him. He was very excited to find his surprise.
He actually found daddy's basket first. It was hiding in the laundry hamper. We knew it was daddy's because Lucas doesn't care about Itunes gift cards and hazelnut chocolate.

But then he found his basket hiding behind his chair in the living room.

Inside the basket was a sprinkler water hose, some play doh and play doh toys, a bubble wand and a little bit of candy. Too bad it's still very cold and definitely not water play weather.

Chef Dustin!

I have been having a hard time keeping up with all the things I use to do because I have been so tired, especially when I get home from work. Dustin has been great to step up and so he takes a couple days in the week to make dinner and do the dishes.
Wednesday night is his night and tonight he made Salisbury Steaks with a Savory Sauce. It was so delicious, he did such a great job. He did make a comment on how long it took him to make it because he's not used to making such nice meals but I was very impressed. This was completely made by him, he even formed the steaks himself (and he even did the grocery shopping for all the ingredients!). Way to go Dustin!

Siblings

In preparation for the arrival of our new baby, we enrolled Lucas into a Sibling Class at IMC and it was AWESOME! The class was taught by one of the nurses, Lori, and the very first thing she did was talk about 3 rules.

1. Always wash your hands.
And this includes everyone, including Grandma's (that's what the nurse said!)
2. Always sit down.
This means no walking around with the baby (Yeah!)
3. Always Ask.
This means no giving the baby food or toys without asking mom or dad first.

I've been a little worried about Lucas doing some of these things so it was really good that someone else other than mom or dad talked about how important these rules are. I now have total faith in Lucas being really good around the baby. And bonus - Lucas has been washing his hands with NO complaint now.
AWESOME!

We then watched a movie with a silly professor who talked more about babies and after the movie, Lori showed us the right way to hold a baby, how to change a diaper and swaddle the baby. All the kids brought a doll or stuffed animal so they could do all these things themselves. Afterwards, Lucas sat in his chair and gave his "baby" a bottle. I think he is going to be a GREAT helper. The class ended up with a tour of the Labor and Delivery rooms and also the patient rooms so Lucas (and mom and dad) would know where we are going to be in the hospital when the baby comes. I think Lucas is pretty excited about his new baby and it's going to be a great experience for our family.

So far we have changed the "baby's" diaper pretty close to a hundred times!

Before we left the hospital, Dustin took us over to the hallway near the Heart and Lung Wing of the hospital. There is a granite display along the windows that was one of the last jobs that Team Marble did that Dustin measured. It was an awesome piece of work!

Flower Boxes and Race Cars

Lucas loves tools! The first Saturday of every month, Home Depot has a free workshop for kids to come and build something. Lucas LOVES it and Dustin is an awesome Dad to take him to these workshops.

Here is Lucas holding the race car and the wooden basket he put together.
